Description

Quick, juicy, and packed with bold sweet-savory flavor, this 10 Minute Honey Garlic Shrimp is the perfect weeknight dinner. Made with pantry staples and done in under 10 minutes, it’s ideal for busy nights without sacrificing taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, or canola)

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated (or 1 tsp ginger paste)

  • 4 tbsp honey

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  • Velvet the shrimp: In a bowl, whisk soy sauce and cornstarch until smooth. Add shrimp, toss to coat, and let sit for 5 minutes.

  • Cook aromatics: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 20–30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Sear shrimp: Increase heat to medium-high. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1–2 minutes per side until just pink.

  • Add glaze: Lower heat to low. Stir in honey and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss shrimp for 1 minute until glossy.

  • Serve: Garnish with green onions and serve over rice, noodles, or salad.

Notes

For extra heat, increase red pepper flakes or add sriracha.

Add a splash of lime juice for brightness.

Avoid overcooking the shrimp — they cook fast!

Use gluten-free soy sauce (tamari) for a gluten-free version.
