Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans

  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning

  • 1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 tsp lime juice (optional)

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 cup salsa or pico de gallo (drained)

  • ½ cup guacamole (optional)

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

  • ½ cup chopped cherry tomatoes

  • ¼ cup sliced black olives

  • ¼ cup chopped green onions

  • Optional: ½ lb cooked seasoned ground beef or turkey, pickled jalapeños, cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix refried beans with taco seasoning and spread in a shallow dish.

  2. Whip cream cheese, sour cream, lime juice, and salt until smooth. Spread over beans.

  3. Add a layer of salsa, then guacamole if using.

  4. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

  5. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and green onions. Add jalapeños and cilantro if desired.

  6. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving with chips or veggie dippers.

Notes

Use a shallow dish for better layer visibility and easier scooping.

Drain salsa and pat lettuce dry to prevent sogginess.

Can be made up to 8 hours in advance.

Do not freeze.
